HISTORY

Since leaving art school, Alex has always been involved in fabricating and casting metal sculpture and furniture, including time as the foundry manager of the world renowned Morris Singer Foundry.

1994 – Set up metalwork business in Sussex. Type of work ranged from general blacksmithing, furniture design, shop fitting to sculpture.

1997 – Moved business to Wiltshire to set up Red Forge, doing similar work as in Sussex.

2000 – Went into partnership with Goulding Bronze fine art foundry. This was based at the existing Red Forge workshops.

2001 – Moved to Essex to set up Milwyn Casting, a fine art foundry. Casting his own and other established sculptor’s work into bronze.

2005 – In November was asked to head small-scale operations at Art Founders Foundry (including Burlifield and Nautilus fine art foundries).

2006 – At the beginning of the year Art founders took over The Morris Singer Foundry, at this time Alex was promoted to Foundry Manager to oversee this and manage an exstencive order book.

2008 – In November, resigned as foundry manager of The Morris Singer Foundry to set up Milwyn Casting, which he continues to own and run to this day.

2016 – Was made an MRBS (Member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors). Also invited to have work represented in The Other Art Fair Shop.
